Sell Items from the Biggest Rock N’ Roll Artists in RR Auction’s Marvels of Modern Music Auction

Every year, RR Auction is proud to honor the culture-defining genres of music through the semi-annual Marvels of Modern Music auction. With their second event coming up, RR is seeking rarities to sell to our passionate music collectors.

Our clients seek to add items such as stage-worn and -used outfits and equipment, signed instruments, autographed photos and posters, albums, CDs, handwritten letters, lyrics, setlists, and contracts to their collections. All genres are welcome: classic rock, reggae, jazz, country, rap, soul, rhythm and blues, folk, gospel, and more.

When it comes to pieces from the biggest names in music – Prince, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Michael Jackson to name a few – RR Auction has long been in the business of achieving stellar prices for them.

Beatles signed photograph (c. 1965) - A rare gift to the 'Beatles Christmas Show' producer, sold for $30,301.

Among sweeping selections in previous events, signed photos and albums have presented an enormous value as evidenced by signed copies of Led Zeppelin II ($21,889), Queen II ($21,339), and My Generation by The Who ($16,444). And in 2023, RR oversaw the sales of a signed photograph from the Beatles for $30,301 and an archive of signed and unsigned photos from the Rolling Stones for $64,346.

Handwritten material, such as letters, setlists, documents, or song lyrics, have also presented outstanding results. This includes sales for Jim Morrison’s lyrics for ‘Love Her Madly’ ($43,750), a handwritten letter by John Lennon ($31,251), a Columbia Records document signed by Janis Joplin ($8,249), and Kurt Cobain’s Nirvana setlist for the ‘Rock for Choice’ benefit show ($23,750).

Bob Dylan's archive of love letters to high school sweetheart Barbara Ann Hewitt, sold for $669,875.

We also have also been involved with the sales of personal artifacts and performance materials. In 2022, we were entrusted with an archive of Bob Dylan’s love letters to his high school sweetheart Barbara Ann Hewitt, which made our list of top ten items sold for $669,875. When it comes to items of the stage-worn and -used variety, RR has plenty of experience with that too. Last year, our November specialty auction celebrated Prince’s glamorous style. Whether it was his ruffled shirt ($33,219) and blue brooch ($11,344) from the 12th American Music Awards, his personally-owned and -worn cross chain from the Parade tour ($24,956), or his blue-heeled bracketed boots from the Act I tour ($24,079), RR has the experience and the market to get remarkable results for music memorabilia.

If you think your item is a great fit, submit photos of your piece(s) below or call us at 800-937-3880. RR Auction is accepting consignments until September 3, 2024, and Marvels of Modern Music will be taking place on November 14, 2024.
