Greg Louganis’ Olympic Medals
Sold for Nearly $431,000 at Auction

Boston, MA – July 18, 2025 — Three Olympic medals from diving legend Greg Louganis—two golds and one silver—realized $430,865 in RR Auction’s Summer 2025 Olympic Memorabilia sale, led by his career-capping gold from the 1988 Seoul Games, which brought in $201,314.

Widely considered the greatest diver in Olympic history, Louganis won back-to-back golds at the 1984 Los Angeles and 1988 Seoul Summer Games, adding to his silver medal from Montreal in 1976. The trio of medals offered in the sale reflected Louganis’s extraordinary resilience, artistry, and dominance on the world stage.

Highlights include:

• 1988 Seoul Olympic Gold Medal (10-Meter Platform) — Sold for $201,314
  The defining medal of Louganis’s career, awarded just one week after his dramatic comeback victory on the springboard—an inspiring moment that remains one of the most iconic in Olympic history.
• 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Gold Medal (3-Meter Springboard) — Sold for $199,301
  The long-awaited gold that solidified Louganis’s dominance, earned at the height of his career before a home crowd during the historic Los Angeles Games.
• 1976 Montreal Olympic Silver Medal (10-Meter Platform) — Sold for $30,250
  Awarded to a 16-year-old Louganis during his Olympic debut, this silver medal marked the emergence of a generational talent who would go on to rewrite the record books.
