RR Auction’s experienced team of consignment specialists auctioned this rare Queen-signed News of the World album cover for top dollar. Queen’s sixth studio album, News of the World, featured two their most prolific hits ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘We Are the Champions.’ Brian May’s handwritten lyrics  for “We Will Rock You” also made an appearance, a highly desirable collectible of one the world’s fan favorite songs that can still be heard on television and radio stations to this day.

Another piece from this period, a promotional display robot, was known as ‘Frank the Robot’ and is an extremely rare collectible that is hard to come by. Each of these plastic robots had their own defining features, with this particular ‘Frank’ being characterized by its red basket, eyes, and lips, as well as the large “Queen” sticker displayed on its chest. These three pieces sold for a combined sum over $48,000, befitting this pivotal era of music which can still be heard more than 40 years later.
