However, not only was Charlie Chaplin regarded as a great performer, but he also formed a career behind the camera. Chaplin directed eleven feature films, and his final film had quite a bit of star power attached to it. The 1967 comedy film A Countess from Hong Kong starred Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren, and was also Chaplin’s final film appearance. In November 2016, RR Auction sold Chaplin’s canvas director’s chair back from this movie for $9,789.
